Entries come from Philippine organizations: universities and research institutions (Digital Innovation), government offices, locally registered companies at least 51% Filipino-owned, and digital start-ups under five years old. Individuals can't enter alone; student teams enter through their school. DICT can nominate up to three entries per category.

The ASEAN Digital Awards (formerly the ASEAN ICT Awards) recognize digital products across six categories: Public Sector, Private Sector, Digital Content, Digital Inclusivity, Digital Start-up, and Digital Innovation. The Digital Innovation category is for products from universities and research institutions, so student teams enter through their school. Entries need a short entry form and a product video of up to 3 minutes. The awards ceremony date has not been announced.
